Must-Have Resources for Wedding Planners

Must-Have Resources for Wedding Planners

When you think about the things you need to have as a wedding planner, what comes to mind? Maybe you think of a website and logo. Maybe you think of a team of assistants. Maybe you think of having a clear process. Those are certainly all things you need but some of the most important things you can have as a wedding planner are strong resources. That’s because the career and work of a wedding planner are always changing, and it is imperative that you have people, places, and things to turn to when you find yourself needing to adapt or update. So today, we wanted to share some of our favorite go-to’s with you! Read on for what we consider to be must-have resources for wedding planners and lean on them when you need to.

A community

First and foremost, a community is the most important resource anyone can have! Because, when you have questions—they have answers. When you need a reference—they have 10. When you are working through a challenge—they’ve experienced it and have ideas to support you. That’s why our focus here at Planner Life Academy is education (yes) but it is more about building a tight and supportive community for wedding planners around the world.

Contract templates

We talked about the work of a wedding planner being something that constantly is shifting. And, after a year like 2020, we all experienced just how quickly (and drastically) change can happen. From laws changing to your business growing (and everything in between), you want to have a trusted resource to turn to when you need a new contract or need to make updates to an existing one. Annette Stepanian has been our go-to legal resource for years and her shop has all the contract templates a wedding planner could ever need.

Honeybook

Some resources are ones you lean on occasionally and some are ones you lean on consistently. And, Honeybook is one of those for us and tons of other planners across the country. That’s because what Honeybook brings to the table is time—specifically, time back on your side because you can template and automate much of your booking process. Plus, this CRM helps to modernize your business (which makes it even more valuable as a resource).

Aisle Planner

Similar to Honeybook, Aisle Planner is one of the technology resources that we turn to almost every day. Because, when it comes to streamlining your planning process and making it easy to collaborate with clients, Aisle Planner’s online wedding planning tools are a best-in-class resource. No wedding planner should be piece-mealing how they organize the thousand details that go into planning a wedding and no wedding planner should be recreating the wheel every time they book a new client.
