You have meetings to attend, tasks to check off, and designs to put together – but what about marketing your business? Read on to get ready to build your brand (and show off your portfolio) with successful submissions.

How to Design, Plan, and Execute a Real Wedding for Publication

Last year, we shared all of our best submission tips on a webinar with our friends at Two Bright Lights! We talked all about how to design, plan, and execute a real wedding for submission so that you can prepare to put together a strong submission by planning things out from the start. From the initial design concept to wedding day hacks, we talked about it all. Watch the full webinar replay below!

Get the Shots You Need on Wedding Day

Once you’ve done the work to plan that beautiful wedding, you have to make sure to get all of the shots editors are looking for. And, the best way to do this is by having a conversation with the photographer before you both show up on-site. Even if it is a simple exchange of emails, you and the photographer need to be on the same page. The easiest way to do that? A shot list! And, lucky for all of us, our friends at Two Bright Lights have shared this easy-to-use one with us. Print it, share it, and send it to your photographers before the wedding day to plan your strategy.

What do you need to include in a submission?

Now that you’ve got the photos and are ready to start sending your gallery to publications, be sure to include all of the details editors are wanting. (An incomplete or incorrect submission is the quickest way to be declined). And, while each publication has it’s own set of submission requirements, we’ve put together a checklist to help get you started! Get our real wedding submission checklist to make sure you prepare everything you need to get your submission published by signing up for our email list! Sign up and save it to refer to over and over again.
