4 Tips to Help You Find the Perfect Wedding Venue for Your Couples

Perhaps the biggest task you have when you are working with a couple to plan their wedding is finding a venue. And, while you might have lots of great options for them to consider, being able to present them with a curated list (that doesn’t require 4 days of site visits) will help you prove your worth very early on. So today, we wanted to share our top 4 tips to help you find the perfect wedding venue for your couples. Read on to learn ways to hone in on “the one” in no time!

Know Your Local Venues Inside and Out

While it’s not a realistic expectation to know every venue like the back of your hand, the first step towards helping your couples find the perfect one for them is for you to be very familiar with the venues in your area. From styles and square footage to all of the amenities and restrictions, it is hard to help with a venue search if you aren’t familiar with the basics (and bests) of the venues you have to choose from. So, be sure to schedule site visits and do your homework on the venues you haven’t had a chance to work at yet but also have notes handy on the ones you have.

Educate Your Couples

Most couples have little to no idea how much wedding venues cost, so it is important to help them understand what the investment is early on. But, in addition to educating them on how much a wedding venue that matches what they are looking will run them, be sure to help them to understand how much of their total wedding spend or budget they should allocate to a venue. This is an important step to take before the venue search starts and is crucial to successfully managing their budget.

Understand Your Clients’ Must-Haves

The other “first step” to helping your couples find their perfect wedding venue is to know what your couple has on their list of must-haves and no-no's. We recommend having a conversation with them about this or creating a standardized form that you can send to each of your clients to gather and organize their needs. Once you have them, you can use them to get your ideas going without spinning your wheels (i.e. wasting time).

Be Honest

Our last tip to help you find the perfect wedding venue for your clients is simple - be honest. While you are searching for a venue, your couples might fall in love with one that has more than one no-no. And, while it might be difficult to discourage them from booking it, it is important to remind them of what they prioritized. For example, many of our couples at LVL Weddings and Events want their reception outside and to be able to go past 10pm. Finding a venue that allows that is very difficult in Southern California unless you find a private estate that is actually in the middle of nowhere (an indoor space is more realistic). The bottom line is to not promise something that would require you moving mountains.

We hope you found these tips helpful and that it becomes even a little bit easier for you to help your couples find their perfect wedding venue from now on!
