LVL ACADEMY: SPRING 2017 WORKSHOP DAY ONE

Excitement was in the air on Day 1 of the Spring 2017 LVL Academy Wedding Planner Workshop. The doors of the new Wayfare HQ Fullerton location opened to welcome attendees joining us from New York to California.

LVL Academy Day 1 always kicks off with a welcome chat (coffee is a must) with workshop instructors; Lindsay Ferguson & Heather Hoesch. We share our WHY and hear each attendee's story and journey through the industry so far. This chat brings to light a shared passion and desire to never stop learning among attendees setting the tone for an inspiration filled weekend ahead. 

Throughout the morning, attendees get an in-depth education on the specifics of sales, booking clients, and the very first planning steps to take. We had the privilege of introducing Meg Hall - Owner of Made by Meg Catering, Pam Wolter - Social Events Manager at The Resort at Pelican Hill, Brian Press -  Owner of Impressive Creations, and Brandon Kidd - owner of Brandon Kidd Photography to the attendees. These top industry professionals shared their insight and tips with attendees giving them a well-rounded education of the industry as well as insight on what these top vendors expect from a wedding planner. 

One of the most nerve-wracking experiences for many beginning planners is the ceremony rehearsal. Instructor, Heather Hoesch, took attendees through her own detailed rehearsal process allowing attendees to walk away with the process, wording, and confidence to lead an organized and thorough rehearsal on their own.

We ended the night with a delicious dinner from Colette's Catering, a full-service catering company who provided meals for our attendees all weekend long. The final lesson of day was a cake cutting demo including how to facilitate the cutting of the cake for the couple as well as a hands on how-to of cutting the cake to serve to guests.
